Mei's Adventure

 “Girls are as good as boys.”   Biff went to King Arthur’s castle which was a world in the book Biff’s teacher read her. In the castle, Biff wanted to be a knight but she couldn’t be it because she was a girl. She did her best to be a knight. For example, she showed her skateboard skill for other knights and made a round table for knights. But they didn’t allow her to be a knight because of her sex. She was but angry and keep angry, she went back to the real world.   Now, the gap between boys and girls is a big problem not only Japan but also the world. So, Biff’s thought “Girls are as good as boys.” is really important current world and I can understand her thought. I want all people to think about this gap and have the question about this gap.

 Suzie is a student and one day, Gran waiting her at the school and went home together. But Gran couldn’t the house’s key. Gran and Suzie looked for the key around Gran and many times but they could not find it. Then, their dog went in the house from the small flap. So, Suzie tried to enter the house by using dog’s flap and she could. The key was in the house but they were home at last. Gran gave Suzie and her dog biscuits.   I think I will be able to experience this situation which Gran forgot the key near the future so this story was interesting. The trouble was solved by Suzie and her dog. It shows us they are pretty clever.   ◆ New Words ◆ ・ flap ：片方が固定され垂れさがっているドア

 “Will you sponsor Dad?”   Dad went running and decided to participate in the event “Fun Run.” The children told everyone to sponsor their Dad. The day of the event, he took injured when he was running and he couldn’t run any more. But children took an old pram. Dad was on the pram and everyone pushed it. Therefore, Dad could finish Fun Run and he could experience real fun run.   I like the scene that the children asked everyone to be Dad’s sponsors for their Dad. He couldn’t finish running by him self but everyone helped him so he could finish. It is a very good story and I think the children are too kind and like their Dad very much.     ◆ New Words ◆ ・ pram ：乳母車 ・ hooray ：さようなら

 “Slow down,” shouted Biff. “No. This is fun,” said Gran.   Gran bought a fast car but everyone around her was worried about her. After that, Gran and children went to a small world. Gran joined a car race but it was very dangerous because a bad guy disturbed her race. Finally, Gran won this race but she learned a fast car was really dangerous so she took the fast car back. For instead, she bought a little car.   I was surprised that Gran was very powerful and dangerous. She enjoyed the fast car but the children scared it so I think she has more thrill then the children in her life.     ◆ New Words ◆ ・ skid ：スリップする

“The children threw snowballs at the big boys.” “The big boys ran away.”   The children went to The village in the Snow by a magic. It is a village which was showed the children in the book. In The village in the Snow, the children saw a little boy who was bullied by big boys. So, one of the children Kipper wore the little boy’s things and looked like the little boy. The big boys came to Kipper so the children threw snowballs at the big boys and the big boys ran away. And then, the children enjoyed with the little boy but the magic key grew and they want back to the room.   This story gave me a fantasy imagination because I was really excited that the children want to the village in a book. Also, the children helped a little boy bi their clever imagination. I wanted to go the village with them.     ◆ New Words ◆ ・ toboggan ：トボガン ( 遊戯・競技用の平底で先端が曲がったそり )  

 “I don’t like nasty witches.”   Children and Gran were taken to a castle by a magic. There are three nasty witches on the castle and a frog which was a king but turned in to a frog. Children and Gran helped them to fight with three witches. The king frog became a person and other frogs turn into people too. The king had a party and enjoyed but a magic key was glowing and children and Gran went to a real world.   The phrase I wrote on the top of this page is what Gran said. Gran is really strong and powerful. I think children like her very much. By reading this story, I want to see Gran and go to an adventure.   ◆ New Words ◆ ・ nasty ：ひどい

 “Biff looked outside. There was a storm.”   Wilf and Wilma made a tree house with their friends and their Dad. But one day, the storm came to them and it broke the tree house. They became sad. However, they could find a box under the tree. A key was inside and Chip liked the box so he put it in his room.   If I had been Biff and had looked outside which had rained and wind, I couldn’t have slept. But they found a special key because of the storm so I think if we experienced bad things, we could see some good things someday.

 I read “The Wedding.” It is about Wilf’s feeling. Wilf’s aunt got married so they would join her wedding but he didn’t want to be a pageboy. Everyone prepared the wedding and Wilf’s aunt took his measurements. He was unhappy. However, his mother bought him a suit so he didn’t need to be a pageboy so he could enjoy the wedding.   I think Wilf’s Mum knew Wilf’s feeling that he didn’t want to be a pageboy. His Mum made him happy. I want to be a mother who can notice children’s feeling very much.  “What is your wish, oh master?”   There are a poor widow and her son Aladdin in the land. One day, a wicked sorcerer appeared in front of Aladdin and the sorcerer tricked Aladdin. But he found a magic lump and he became happy. A genie was in the magic lump and he made Aladdin’s three dreams come true. Aladdin’s first wish was to go home and second wish was to be rich. And then, the lump was robbed by the wicked sorcerer and also princess Yasmin was taken for away. So, Aladdin found Yasmin for a long time and say third wish “Please take us home” to the genie. Aladdin and Yasmin became happy forever.   I really like this story. The wicked sorcerer made my feeling angry but because of him, Aladdin could get the magic lump and happy life with Yasmin. By reading this story, sometimes, troubles are necessary to dreams come true.  “Mum opened the door. She found a room.”   Biff and Chip helped their parents to reform their house. When they made Biff’s new room, they found secret door and Mum open it. There was a little house and it looked like their house. Biff liked this little house and out things inside. She slept by the little house and dreamed about the little children.   If I had been Mum, I couldn’t have opened the door because of the fear. However, there was a little cute house like their house. I am very excited by small things like a small house, being a small human and so on. So, I want to find small house in my house and if I can find it, it can be my treasure.     ◆ New Words ◆ ・ stuck ：動かない (stick) の過去形

 I read “The Play.” It is a story about Mrs May and her students. They had a story time in their school. Mrs May read “The Wizard of Oz” to their students. One day, the children couldn’t play outside because of the storm like “The Wizard of Oz.” So, the children played The Wizard of Oz inside. Their parents helped Mrs May to succeed the play. The play was really fun and grate.   I remembered my childhood by reading this story. When I was a kindergarten’s children, I played some stories with my friends. And sometimes, we put on a play in front of our parents. I was nervous then, but now I thought it was a very good experience for me. If I have a chance, I want to put on a play with my friends again.   ◆ New Words ◆ ・ blew ：吹く (blow) の過去形  

 “The magic took them to a field. The scarecrow came to life.”   Biff and Chip had a little garden but birds ate seeds and pecked the plants so Biff and Chip decided to make a scarecrow. They could make a scarecrow whose name was Fred. Then, the key began to glow and the magic took them to a field. Fred becomes alive. There are some scarecrows in the field and they a good time to dance. After Biff and Chip went back to the real world, they began to make a girl scarecrow next to Fred.   It doesn’t happen that scarecrows are alive. If scarecrows were alive, I couldn’t believe. But Biff and Chip enjoyed with many scarecrows so the story is really fantasy.  “I’m being attacked by the washing.”   Biff and Chip became small by the magic key and went to Wizard Blot’s house. Wizard Blot is a character who appeared the play which Biff and Chip did. He had them do housework or, he would turn them into frogs. While they were doing housework, Biff dropped vanishing cream. They were vanishing but they could catch a thief by vanishing. So, Wizard Blot became happy.   At first, I couldn’t understand the phrase I wrote the top of this page. But by reading many times, I found the washing are Biff and Chip. I think this expression is really interesting. Finally, they caught a thief and Wizard Blot, Biff and Chip seemed be happy but Wizard Blot had told them “Don’t be lazy or, I’ll turn you into frogs.” Therefore, I didn’t become to like him.     ◆ New Words ◆ ・ theatre ：劇場 ・ out of a box ：箱から ・ put on a play ：演劇をやる ・ wizard ：魔法使い ・ spell ：呪い ・tidy up：片づける

“Biff and Chip got smaller and smaller and smaller.”   One night, in the box which was by Chip’s bed, something was glowing. He thought it was magic and ran into Biff’s room. They looked at the box and found a key inside. By picking up the key, the magic began. They got very small and played with the big things like a pin, a pencil. Then, the key grew again and Biff picked up it, the magic was over. They got bigger and bigger and bigger.   I was really excited to read this story because I want to experience being smaller and smaller and smaller. I like the expression which I wrote on the top on this page. There are three times “smaller” in this phrase and it can make us more excited. I have never experienced magic or miracle world but I want to see the magic world like Chip and Biff with some friends.

“Everyone wanted to see the new baby.”   Jo was expecting a baby and everyone around her became happy. Before the baby was born, everyone started preparing to welcome a baby. For example, parents found the old baby’ goods which their children used and the children learned about babies. Then, Jo gave birth a baby girl. Everyone wanted to see her baby and became happy.   By reading this book, I could see that everyone’s desire which they want to see the baby soon became bigger and bigger. I knew they love Jo and new baby very much because everyone did their best to repair baby’s goods and prepare things for the new baby. The phrase I choose shows me the truth of their desire. I think the new baby will be loved by everyone and she can get a lot of loves. “Mum climbed on to the boat. She started the engine. She was just in time. Mum brought the boat back.”    One family went to a car boot sale and bought a dinghy because Mum wanted it. They tried to mend it. Then, they took a picnic and went to the river. They enjoyed the dinghy and the picnic. However, it became time to go home, a lady was in trouble because her boat was in danger. Therefore, Mum help and she brought the boat back. The lady appreciated Mum and lend them her boat. So, they had a really great holiday.   I think this family take a good time with them and they can help people with kind hearts. Especially, Mum is kind and very cool in this book. The phrases I wrote show us the situation which Mum help a lady. On July 28th, I went to  Global Lounge to know what Global Lounge is. I went to there in this morning for tutoring and the stuffs remembered me and gave me smiles so I was very happy.  At first, staffs introduced what Global Lounge is and gave us a lot of information. I was excited by hearing the information that Global Lounge are held some global events  Next, I saw a lot of things which made me really excited for example, I saw a lot of books, movies, text books, magazines and some English games. Especially, I enjoyed pop-up book "Beauty and the beast". It made me really excited.  I went there for the first time on this day but I like the place and I want to go many times to enjoy many kinds of English. Moreover, I would like to improve my speaking English skills so I will go there and speak with Vio  in English.
